Product Description
SkippersMate NZ has been a long time supporter of SOLAS (safety of life at sea - and on land) and so, we could not say no to selling the ZOLEO Global Satellite SOS Communicator. This unit, less than the size of a mobile phone, is a real game changer when it comes to distress alerts as it is a 2 Way Communicator, unlike the traditional forms of personal locator beacons which only send a single signal to the satellite network.

Zoleo
First of all, let me say that customer service from Skipper's Mate is fantastic! It was noted that I had bought a PLB from them 7 years ago, and so they sent me out a new case for it for free. From a purchase I made 7 YEARS ago. Now, as for the Zoleo itself, I was able to message my contact from the Dusky Track, one of the most remote places in New Zealand, without any trouble at all. And it can all be done via an app on the phone. I would need to read reviews from someone who used the SOS function before I had the confidence to leave my PLB at home and just take the Zoleo, but I'm sure it will perform that most critical of functions if required as well. I was debating whether to get the Garmin Inreach Mini or the Zoleo. Having used the Inreach before, I'm glad that I got the Zoleo. So this is an excellent product with a subscription service that allows you to put it in dormant mode after the initial 3 months if you know you're not going to be using it. And Skipper's Mate is the place to purchase it from. Not just the Zoleo either. You can be sure that any item they sell is very reasonably priced, and the customer service is outstanding.
