Wherever you are at sea or on land, the rescueME PLB1 provides the reassurance that emergency services can be alerted by the press of a button.
The rescueMe PLB1 can be operated with a single hand in even the most challenging situations. A simple spring loaded flap covers the activation button preventing inadvertent use.
rescueME PLB1 works with the only officially recognised worldwide dedicated search and rescue satellite network (operated by Cospas Sarsat). As this is funded by governments there are NO CHARGES to use this service.
When activated in NZ, the rescueME PLB1 transmits your position and your ID to the Rescue Coordination Center in New Zealand and Australia via satellite link. Rescue services are promptly notified of your emergency and regularly advised of your current location.

OCEAN SIGNAL RESCUEME PLB1 GPS LOCATOR BEACON
The delivery was fast, the product seems very good, of good quality and resistance. I confess that I was taken by surprise when I figured out, at the moment I received it, that the product is not registered in NZ. I bought it in a hurry because I was too busy and I didn't pay attention to this detail.

RescueMe PLB1
Great price and great service. No problems registering the unit with Australian authorities even when located in NZ. The PLB1 is incredibly compact and light - it's perfect for both boating and tramping activities.

OCEAN SIGNAL RESCUEME PLB1
This certainly is small! Feels solid, antenna looks robust. Haven't had to activate it, fortunately. Good instructions (though a bit vague on the periodic tests, the instructions appear to say there is a different test for the GPS location and the other functions, but give the same directions for carrying out both tests). SkippersMate delivered quickly, and kept me informed. Awesome shop!

Good communications and prompt delivery thanks

PLB
Small and light which is what I needed. Could not remove fine lanyard cord which is uncomfortable to wear round my neck. No belt clip. Obviously impossible to review as I have yet to use it.

Compact, light and easy to use
I recently purchased a Rescueme PLB. It was shipped from Australia and is Australian coded. I'm super impressed with its small size and weight. Its small enough to easily fit in a pocket so can be on the person when tramping or in the outdoors. THe registration process was very easy. The 7 year battery life is middle of the road - I initally wanted a PLB with a 10 year life but they arent available at the moment due to covid. I think this one is a great choice though. All in all very happy.

Product seems to be fine
A bit disappointed about having it registered in Australia and NZ without having to pay further money for that to be converted to NZ register. ************************************ SkippersMate comment: Providing you have the unit registered, local NZ will be coordinating the rescue in NZ. Registration is for emergency contact info only. Even unregistered beacons will work worldwide.

Good price, quick delivery
Questions? Please ask us if you have more
Yes it does. It is attached to the PLB with a lanyard (cord), however its primary role is to enable the PLB to float. This way it complies with Au/NZ Standards and can therefore be sold in both countries. If it is removed, the PLB with not float - it will sink!
Yes it will, just the same as any other beacon that is activated in New Zealand or around the world.
The satellite overhead will recieve the signal and transmit the message to New Zealand Maritime. As your emergency contact details are on the New Zealand database, search and rescue authorities will start to coordinate the search. Being activated in New Zealand, means that NZ Maritime will handle the "local" search and rescue.
Yes you can. There is no such thing as "NZ Only" that some retailer may will make you believe. Regardless of the brand and model, they ALL use the same global satellite network. Yes, they will work globally, however you need to be aware that some countries do charge for search and rescue and others like North Korea will not allow them.
The official COSPAS-SARSAT satellite website will provide you with heaps more information: COSPAS-SARSAT Distress Alerting Service.
This website is where all information is to be believed.
