Check-in button allows a pre-programmed text message or an email with your GPS coordinates to your friends or family.
Tracking way points can also be integrated into a SPOT Shared Page or Adventure account in near real time. Set up a vibration sensor to tell your SPOT when you are moving or have stopped unintended.
Set up a custom message before you leave along with your GPS location. If you get yourself into a non-life-threatening situation, alert your contacts that you need help.

SPOT Tracker
Operating on the East Coast, North Island of New Zealand in a mature pine forest. Disappointed with the coverage. It often wont send tracking info when I'm under the canopy (assume that's because it cant see the satellites). All my other devices can get a fix. Spot doesn't seem to go as well. Works fine out in the open. Am going to line it up against Garmin inreach to see which is better under canopy. Nice surprise was that the message can be customized for "check in", "custom" and "help" buttons. I was only expecting that for the custom button.
